Our Programs

At Karate Black Inc., (KBI) we use movement, creativity, and mindfulness to promote mental health, social justice, and community healing.

Each program is designed to help youth, families, and communities reconnect, restore, and rise together.

*Dance Roots

Dance Roots is the heart of our creative wellness work.

Through dance, rhythm, and movement-based expression, participants explore emotional release, mindfulness, and self-awareness.

Each session encourages joy, connection, and empowerment through movement.

*This program helps participants take back ownership of their bodies, voices, and emotions — one beat at a time.

Peace Moves

Peace Moves bridges restorative practices with mindful action.

Participants learn to manage emotions, communicate effectively, and restore balance in their communities through creative dialogue, restorative circles, and movement-based meditation, building empathy and understanding.

*We believe true peace begins with justice, understanding, and collective healing.

Creative Justice Arts

This interdisciplinary program merges self-expression and activism through projects in creative writing, design, and performance.

Participants use art to explore identity, justice, and healing — from sneaker and denim design to storytelling, creative writing and poetry.

*Through art, participants transform pain into power and creativity into community.
